We were born with a SINFUL NATURE

As all of us are descendents of Adam; the sin of Adam is our nature. When he sinned we sinned too. When he died spiritually we died too. We were born dead and continued living without a funeral.  

The problem is not in that we commit sin. Sinning is an act that emanates from a SINFUL NATURE. We sin because it is our nature to sin. No matter how many meetings you hold with a dog and agree that it should not bark any more; it will still bark. It is its nature to bark. It is also our nature to sin no matter how hard we try to keep a clean record.

We may try to behave well and stop sinning but our nature betrays us. The problem is not our BEHAVIOR; the problem is our NATURE. We fail to correct the situation because we tackle behavior instead of nature.

But God; out of His love – i.e. not being obliged to, not indebted to, not compelled to, not advised to, but out of His own love arranged a rescue plan; a bail out plan. We did not deserve anything; and were justifiably condemned. But before we were sentenced God sent an Advocate to come and plead our case. His name is Jesus. Listen; “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” Romans 5:8 NKJ

It is this Jesus who reversed the course of nature. When we believed in Him and trusted Him for our discharge He arranged for our release. He took away our SINFUL NATURE and replaced it with His RIGHTEOUS NATURE – something we could not do for ourselves. No one in the whole universe was able to do that; not even our parents – no one. We were saved by grace; not of our own works for no amount of work was able to meet the demand of justice to warrant our release.

The Holy Spirit said through Paul writing to the Roman believers; “For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ”Romans 5:17. NKJ

Instead of our SINFUL NATURE we have received the gift of RIGHTEOUSNESS. We are now the righteousness of God by faith – something we could not achieve by human effort. It is through abundance of grace that a SINNER could now be a SAINT. Praise His Wonderful Name.

You see our behavior is no longer a problem. Because of the RIGHTEOUS NATURE we have received, we no longer want to sin. We don’t strife to keep away from sin – no; the SINFULL NATURE has been dealt with and now WE CAN REIGN IN LIFE THROUGH THE ONE, JESUS CHRIST. “A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit” Matthew 7:18 NKJ
